Redeem MSF Completion Card
Receiving a Motorcycle License at the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles:The following valid documents must be presented at the NYSDMV in order to receive a M-license on the driver’s license after successful completion of courses.
- MSF Course Completion Card (Motorcycle Safety School provides after successful course completion)
- New York State Driver's License (Class A, B, C, D, E, or DJ)
- New York State Motorcycle Permit
- *IF NO MOTORYCLE PERMIT: take the motorcycle permit test online (or in-person with an appointment) and schedule a time to pick-up the motorcycle permit after the MSF Basic RiderCourse completion date. This allows for 1 visit to the DMV to pick-up the motorcycle permit and to redeem the DMV Road Test Waiver card for the M license. For motorcycle permit tips:
*IF HAS A MOTORCYCLE PERMIT: It is recommended to schedule a DMV appointment in order to redeem the waiver card, although some DMVs will accept walk-ins.
- Find local DMV office
- Select a service category: Driver’s License, Permit, and Non-Driver ID (Photo Document)
- Select a service: Change Information on Photo Document
